Welcome to my Blog. I am a plumber by day and a student in my spare time. I have a keen interest in IT, and worked in that industry for 10 years. These days I have returned to the tools and that has been good for my health if not for my more creative and academic interests. I am also married so I use the term “spare time” under advisement!
Most importantly though I am a Christian, of the old fashioned kind who unapologetically reads and believes in the Bible and tries to order my life around its words and precepts. I am involved in various church activities and undertake personal bible study at home.
This is of course both out of fashion and difficult to do, as we live at a time when Christianity is not seen as very relevant by most in our society and amongst those that do subscribe to Christian ideals and teachings there is a bewildering amount of diverse and conflicting views as to how a Christian should think and act.
This Web site is a window into that dichotomy of two world views: the secular post modern self directed citizen, and the traditional, conservative spiritual perspective of the faith led person.
As I have begun my research I have discovered that the imbalances are much more far reaching and invasive into our ordinary lives than we could possibly imagine.
I perceive that after generations of courting Christianity and modelling its norms off Christian values that the world has grown restless and over confident in its many achievements and accomplishments. It has outgrown traditional faith and is pushing back evermore openly against Christian truths and principles. Liberal scholars have challenged the very foundations of Scripture and are routinely rewriting and reinterpreting core doctrines in the light of current reasoning and moral values.
Sensing this societal shift in my own lifetime I am aware of a great imbalance in the public debate and have made a conscious effort to redress that by undertaking a formal course in Theology with a focus on Christian Apologetics to get the other perspective and relearn lessons that have been experienced by generations of men and women before us. Some of my thoughts and reflections on this website will be underpinned by my observations and knowledge gained from that study.
As I have begun my research I have discovered that the imbalances are much more far reaching and invasive into our ordinary lives than we could possibly imagine. I will discuss this in future blog articles and offer strategies we can all implement to counter these insidious attacks on our very thought processes and freedom of expression.
I hope that I will meet many like-minded Christians or just perceptive individuals that also feel an uneasiness with direction our societies are moving – further away from moral constants and universal truth to a world where truth is in the eye of the beholder and relative to a set of standards that themselves are shifting. Its a very seductive alternative and when nobody has to take responsibility for the final actions or consequences our inner child runs rampant.
Will we as a collective of humanity have the simple faith required to seek the Father.
